We've been teaching sailing lessons since 1997. Our goal is to make sure that everyone who comes through our doors has an incredible experience with us and with the sea. Whether you're looking for a fun activity with friends or want to learn something new, we have something for everyone. We can teach you how to sail a catamaran in as little as two hours, or we can spend the whole week learning everything there is to know about sailing and catamarans. We offer private lessons and group classes so that you can get out on the water with their preference!
If you're new to sailing or just want to brush up on your skills, our certified instructors will help you get acclimated with the equipment and teach you how to safely handle the catamaran boat. They'll also show you how to navigate around the lagoon so that you have a good idea of what it takes to be a successful sailor. Our classes and lessons are perfect for those who want to learn how to sail a catamaran. We have everything you need, including boats and instructors, so that you can get started right away!
Private lessons
The ideal option to guarantee a fast and efficient evolution. With private lessons, you ensure that you have an instructor exclusively for you. Ideal for the beginning and for the most relevant stages of evolution. Lessons last two hours.

Weekly summer courses
The weekly summer courses are the perfect option for those who want to learn sailing and at the same time consolidate all the knowledge acquired. Internships represent our best offer for learning the sport, where the students will accumulate 15 hours of practice over a week. The internships take place during the months of July and August, from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 1 pm, and by opening a class (min 6 people). The summer internships are aimed at beginners and intermediate sailors. The aim is to promote autonomy in sport and train independent sailors.

rentals
The rental system is perfect for sailors who want to enjoy the lagoon but who do not have or cannot bring their equipment. As well as for beginners and intermediates who don't need lessons and just need to multiply their hours in the water. When choosing EVL's rental services, you will find a fleet of boats, already equipped, laid out on the beach and ready to be navigated in Lagoa 'Óbidos.

What is a Catamaran?
The ideal support for those who really want to get started in sailing, quickly and effectively. These boats are not only exceptionally stable but also capable of reaching high speeds with little effort. It fits in light sailing for adults and children from 50 kg and is the ideal support for anyone who wants to acquire the basics of sailing, as well as build their independence in the water. Escola de Vela da Lagoa provides its students with a direct and safe introduction to sailing, using the Óbidos lagoon as a training ground. Learning how to sail can often seem like a long and exhausting process, uninviting for beginners, but it shouldn't happen that way, it can perfectly take place in a relaxed and hands-on atmosphere.
At Escola de Vela da Lagoa, we are proud to work in the vast majority in the initiation and exploratory development of sailing. With us you will find qualified instructors and all the ideal conditions to be able to introduce yourself to sailing. Normally, after a few guided sessions, you will be able to fairly independent (in a controled invornment, such as the lagoon), and you may just start taking advantage of our rental system.
